Program Description:
• Reinforce students understanding that what is learned in school applies to the work world.
• Provide opportunities for students to observe and participate in the work world.
• Expand awareness of life choices.
• Provide reasons for achieving academically and for attending college.
• Improve preparation for a career in the work world.

Program Requirements:
- City of Stamford current high school juniors and seniors, aged -16 - 19 year old
- Six week commitment from the end of June through August.
- Program application will be available from Monday April 1st to Tuesday April 30th 2013.
- Complete application (will be available April 1, 2013) at the Youth Services Bureau on the 6th floor of Government Center or print from www.cityofstamford.org under ‘Employment Opportunities’. The posting will be title the ‘Mayor’s Youth Employment Program’. Completed applications must be submitted to the City of Stamford’s Human Resource Department by April 30, 2013, before 5.30pm
- Complete a 30 minute interview at the Government Center.
- Attend a Mandatory participants training from Monday June 24 to Thursday June 27, 2013 from 9:00am – 12:00 pm, at the Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd.,4th floor patio cafe .
- Attend a mandatory MYEP Kick off Ceremony on Thursday June 27th 2013, from 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm (sharp) at Government Center, 888 Washington Blvd., 4th floor patio cafe.
- Work for five weeks from Monday through Thursday (July 8 - August 9, 2013) and participation in leadership training at the Government Center on Fridays from 9:00 to 12:00 pm.
